Sometimes things get heated in court during a devastating cross-examination but Oliver Abergel never loses his cool.
In an often testy exchange with defence lawyer Oliver Abergel, Myers said the trauma of the incident caused him to forget certain details when he spoke with police.
Abergel called it a “glaring omission” that Myers did not tell police he was also holding a bottle in his hand when the fight broke out, and took one swing at Ndikuriyo before landing several punches with his fists.
Abergel accused Myers of “shaping your evidence so you won’t look bad,” which Myers denied, and the defence lawyer presented an entirely different version of the events that led to the killing.
“You didn’t want it to come out as what it was, which is two men fighting,” Abergel said.
